“Fantasie Nègre” is a series of pieces composed by Florence Price in the late 1920s/early 1930s. First up we have “Violin Concerto No. 2” (https://youtu.be/jMRTUl-rNkc?si=Ug2aS9nteYXmA1GH) from 1952. It’s one of her final major compositions completed before her sudden passing a year later. It was thought lost to time until it was discovered along with many of Price’s personal papers during a 2009 renovation of her former home.
