I've been meaning to do a shot like this for a long time. This little harvest was sure to be my last chance until next year.
It's homegrown flowers except for two varieties, the pale mums and carthamus, 4 stems not homegrown in this whole shot, threaded through rattan that's stretched over a small frame and placed on an upside-down stool so the stems hang freely.

I shot this last week and ended up not liking it in its original crop-- it was just a quick snap of the flowers in water before I did some actual arranging, but it was so pretty I couldn't resist. Today I cropped it and made it my phone lock screen, it's such a happy little look.
All #homegrown, all part of the joy of #gardening for #art.

Likely some creature (I'm looking at you, squirrels!) jumped in/out of my planter and broke one of my lovely plains coreopsis stems so I grabbed it and some nearly spent zinnias and calendulas and made a little arrangement in an effort to re-balance the cosmos.

Purple basil, common mint and maidenhair fern makes up the foliage for this arrangement. There are two types of dahlias, and because I bought in random mixes this past season, I do not know their names. There's a sulfur cosmo, a daydream cosmo, sonata cosmos, tickseed, larkspur, a bachelor's button, yarrow, snapdragon, queen lime and zinderella zinnias, delphiniums, buddleia, and finally, roses. The roses are Carding Mill, Lady of Shalott, Teasing Georgia, and Moonlight in Paris.
