New #POTA #WWFF country unlocked: #NorthMacedonia 🇲🇰
Since #Albania wouldn't give us a #hamradio guest license, we just walked over the border into North Macedonia this evening, visited the Sveti Naum Monastery and did a 2-operator 3-park activation.
Lots of interference today, there were many stations we couldn't hear. But we walked home with 68 QSOs across all of Europe on 40/20/2 meters.

159 QSOs in two and a half hours, one of the worst pile-ups I've had so far. Even DX stations from the US, Algeria and Ceuta called in. Wasn't #SpaceWeather supposed to be bad?

Yesterday I climbed on top of the "Vorderer Langenberg" in the #Pfälzerwald (#Palatinate Forest) here in #Germany for a combined #SOTA #POTA #WWFF activation. I didn't expect much traffic around noon, but then ended up having a pile-up so high, I had to apply priorisation techniques to get everybody through 😵💫
I only stopped after 88 QSOs in 90 minutes because I was planning to activate more parks in France later that day.

Castle Kräheneck turned out to be the Holy Grail. Not only was this #COTA spot unactivated, but so was Castle Rabeneck right beside it, both castles are also located at four #POTA parks plus one #WWFF park, and spending the night here yielded my first QSOs to #Canada, the #USA and #Argentina!
