Het flipped classroom-model belooft veel maar valt in de praktijk ook tegen omdat de uitdaging ligt in het activeren van cognitieve processen. Volgens Clara Vanbellingen vereist dit een bewust ontwerp van alle leerfasen, waarbij technologiekeuzes worden afgestemd op wat we weten over hoe het brein daadwerkelijk leert. Voorop gesteld: ik ben niet heel bang dat we ‘dommer’ worden door het gebruik van AI. Toch bestaat het risico dat lerenden minder goed gaan leren als zij belangrijke leeractiviteiten uitbesteden aan een AI-toepassing.
