  1. #fleishmanisintrouble I’m a year late. I watched the series in small chunks because the emotions were palpable. Today, I experienced the last 2 episodes and have been changed for the better. As a regular human, sometimes I see a cast and think, wow, I wish these people who choose such extraordinary projects were my friends in real life. I’d like to keep you forever because you’ve grown so dear to me.

  2. So I watched (and partially read) #FleishmanIsInTrouble and my main takeaway is that Lizzy Caplan's character is just so fucking afraid of being a normal person and is choosing to interpret her totally normal midlife crisis as some kind of holy war against suburbia.

Also Josh Radnor is amazing and I just wanted to cry every time I saw him on screen.

  3. Watching #FleishmanIsInTrouble on Disney+. Like it. (Well, wouldn’t watch it otherwise, d’oh.) Recommend it.

  4. I was watching #fleishmanisintrouble the other day.
And I’m all for shows that dramatize the alienation and trauma caused by #modernity and #capital I’m even ok with some of these shows focusing on the wealthy. They can sometimes be the victims of this hellscape while also being the architects of it: jailer and captive combined. But do ALL of them have to take this focus? Many suffer here and the stories of the middle class, the working class, and the working poor really need to be told.

  5. #FleishmanIsInTrouble’s greatest trick lies in its final few episodes where the writer shifts perspective just 60 degrees and suddenly it’s the same story you’ve been watching but from two entirely new perspectives.

Everything about this coming-of-middle-age drama was impeccable

  6. OK, folks, I need some help because I’m clearly missing references not knowing anything about the geography of New York.

Without giving any spoilers, is there something significant about the area of New York that the main character lives in?

(PS It’s on Disney+ in Japan, Hulu in America I think, and produced by FX)

  7. Ah maaaaan, listening to Lizzy Caplan on NPR’s Fresh Air talking about how she was eager to be part of the newest season of Party Down, but couldn’t make the scheduling work around her shooting of the new Hulu show Fleishman is in Trouble (which is EXCELLENT btw). Sadness. She does mention if they do another new season for PD, she wants to be part of it. Fingers Crossed!

  8. Finished #FleishmanIsInTrouble this weekend and felt it deep inside my Gen X soul

  9. @stevesilberman I don’t hate you for that #Andor take. It took too long to get interesting and even then, mostly in the world building. #WhiteLotus was excellent. I just plowed through #OuterRange and before that #FleishmanIsInTrouble . #InterviewWithTheVampire should be high on any Best Of lists. It’s basic but I’d include the latest season of #StrangerThings too. Satisfying and fun.

  10. More Culture Club? Sure!

Bonus from panelist Kevin, who finished Fleishman Is In Trouble. This FX show based on the book by Taffy Brodesser-Akner is a fascinating look at Gen X kids and their struggle to find identity in their adult lives. Lizzy Caplan can narrate my life & Claire Danes is excellent. #fleishmanisintrouble #FX #GPCDCultureClub #TV #tvshows #podcast #podcasts #PopCulture

  11. CW: Fleishman Is In Trouble latest episode

"You know, I always liked you. I just thought you didn't like me" is a line that kinda broke me.
