We have a nice flea comb that works quite well, if you can get him to sit still long enough. The Hartz UltraGuard we applied doesn't seem to be effective, but it was only the first treatment.

Today I did walk into the bedroom, brutally seize the #cat who was lying peacefully on the bed, carry her away to another room, and there commit unspeakable acts against her dignity.
Yes, I did it. I can't deny it.
When she returned and saw me on the bed, she grumbled, then lay on the floor at the foot. She would not join me.
But for the next month, she will be less likely to harbour small bitey things from dubious dogs brought in by relatives of neighbours.

This is because small flies like this have warp drive and can very briefly move at #warp 6 when threatened.
