  1. Sad thing about #ClubPenguin is it would've died eventually anyway due to #FlashPlayer being killed even if the servers were kept up, unless it were to be reimplemented in #HTML5.

  5. @humbird0 The hail mary for #Adobe was to publish the existing binary-tag based #SWF format under the "Open Screen Project". XML FLA files helped for interoperating with #Flash Pro / #AdobeAnimate but #FlashPlayer never took FLA files. Everything got compiled to SWF before you distributed it and that's what #Unity did.

  6. #FlashPlayer had #Stage3D for a graphics API and #Alchemy to do cross-compilation. Adobe decided that you couldn't use both unless you paid up. They added #DRM to Flash to enforce this: #SWF files could not use both APIs unless they had an #Adobe cert in them identifying which revshare was being paid.

    This was years after #SteveJobs wrote his famous open letter, BTW. Flash was STILL GOING STRONG despite not being on iPhone! And using Flash as a delivery mechanism for 3D games was a growth play.

Some people are saying that the main reason to bring #flashplayer back is to give us more excellent #homestarrunner content, and while I would heartily welcome this, the real reason is so that we can convince our friends to watch the original version of this until the ending, promising it's worth it.

  11. Mañana es el fin del soporte de Adobe al FlashPlayer. Me baje las ultimas versiones para todas las arquitecturas, para poder ponerlas para que los demas se las bajen y jueguen a jueguitos flash en mi proxima pagina/proyecto, llena de jueguitos flash de esos adictivos. Mis hijos me van a agradecer cuando sean viejos y quieran nostalgear y los puedan jugar gracias a que su padre se guardo el juego y el flashplayer. Ese proyecto, en realidad lo habia empezado, inclusive antes de undernet, cuando queria que mis hijos jugaran donde una pagina sin propagandas, con banners a veces inapropiados, entonces me robaba los juegos y los metia en otra pagina.... en breve les tiro un url... #flashplayer #eol
