The detail on these models. And the subsurface scattering. The *lighting*. Also the models, the character design for the people in this, they are not pretty or hansom. And to me that makes them feel more human. The #Flapjack cartoon did something similar where nearly all chars were not traditionally pretty, not close. And that gave a -very- specific visual tone.

idk why but #flapjack feels like a forgotten gem.
I love this show quite dearly. The show feels like it ended somewhat abruptly but at least we got quite a few of half eps to watch.
