Cordless drivers are the perfect "lazy boy tool". I paid £25 for the Worx WX242 from a Chinese website, and it replaced not only my Wowstick (handy, but not very powerful) but also my "big boy" impact driver for most things.

I have this precious 30yo set of Sony headphones, and the yoke holding one ear cup had snapped like a wishbone.
After considering several options, and trying "just epoxy the pieces back together", I managed to slice 1/4" from a 60mm I.D. PVC pipe, perfect match for the yoke radius, and cyanoacrylate gap-filling glue sandwich, it's as good as new !

Hey la team #Reparation et #fixityourself : l'écouteur gauche de mon casque Sennheiser Momentum 2 a cessé de fonctionner (le droit fonctionne).
Quand je déplace l'écouteur gauche, j'arrive parfois à obtenir du son et des bruits de friture. J'imagine donc qu'il s'agit d'un faux contact ou d'un problème de connectique / soudure.
J'ai ouvert l'écouteur gauche et inspecté les câbles et les soudures, rien ne semble avoir été détaché. En revanche, le câble qui relie les deux écouteurs a été entamé (cf photo).
- À votre avis, est-ce que ça peut venir de ça ?

I spent a bit of time today recovering from the weekend and clearing out my mending pile. This bag from Market Basket had some places where the panels were pulling apart from each other and the binding was falling off. I pulled off the crummy binding and replaced it with some nylon webbing, and ta-da, bag is useful again.
From a purely capitalist perspective, this is a terrible use of time, right? I could just buy a new bag from MB for, like, what, $5? $10? And I could have used that time in Economically Productive Pursuits to Increase The GDP, and someone in an exploited country could have made another one and shipped it across the ocean, and in a couple years that binding would rip and I’d buy a new one and we’d just keep doing that dance until the heat death of the universe.
Or I could spend the time and effort to keep it out of a landfill for a little longer. So I did. And it’s a small thing but it’s better than nothing. Bonus: bag is now significantly gayer.
We can fix things if we take the time.

Ordered a replacement set of brushes from an online site that wasn't Amazon for £3.99
So £3.99 and an hour of my time and all's well
I get a couple of springs from the old brushes for my stock box too!
