You ever fix something and realize just how janky everything is holding together?
We have a couple doors in our house that have always sagged and wiggled when you moved them. I finally learned how to fix this problem and did it last night. The first one someone tried to hold up with machine screws. And the second the screws were so short they did not touch the frame… they only made it into the door jam, which is a soft almost cardboard like interior.

I have a trackball where the rubber feet are partially falling of. I was thinking of removing them, cleaning the remaining glue and grime with "Goo Gone", and then re-glue the feet back. Is that a good approach? If yes, what type of glue should I use for the feet?

Puzzled, I try the trigger again, and watch as the lever closes in on the contact switch... and then the trigger maxes out just before the switch is depressed. Looks like a manufacturing defect in either the trigger or the lever, one of them is just a hair too thin. I pop out the trigger, run a tiny screw into the end of it, and reassemble the saw. Now I've got a working chainsaw for $36 while simultaneously saving this thing from going to a landfill.

Sustainability win! ♻️ 🌟 This week, me and my partner successfully replaced a broken laptop screen (fall damage) on a 5 year old HP probook laptop. It was a little fiddly but NOT HARD TO DO, and the replacement screen (~120€) was the only cost involved. Seriously, if you can operate a screwdriver and have some fine motor skills, you can do this.
We couldn't have done it without videos on YouTube though, so thank you to everyone who has ever uploaded a video of a repair! We have replaced this laptop's keyboard last winter, so this is the second repair. It works like a charm and hopefully will last many more years!
If you read this, share a recent repair or sustainability win of yours, I'd love to celebrate with you! 🎉

Certified Telescope Mechanics (Trust Us)
Diego and I drove into regional Victoria to fix a telescope dome because apparently that’s our life now.
We adjusted the focuser (it was vibing wrong), tried to mount a Celestron C14 on a pier (it said “no”), and realized we need an adapter the size of my ego.
It was dusty. It was weirdly emotional. One of us almost cried (me).
This is what happens when you give two guys tools, a telescope, and zero adult supervision. 🔧🔭🚙

This is an interesting take from a movie video essayist about doing the work not just saying it.

Sunday is #3DPrintday 🎉 This morning I already got two printers working 😎 The left one prints another mini toolbox 🧰 and the right one my first iteration of an doTERRA Oil diffuser cone. The original ones are made of glass and this one broke. Instead of buying a new glass cone for about 50€ 🤯 I try to print my own in vasemode. On this model I also tried the new TinkerCad sketch tool 🙂
