@erikcats @FediTips Hi! #FitPub is still a very new project, so we don't have native mobile apps at the moment.
However, FitPub is available as a Progressive Web App (PWA). On Android, you can install it from your browser and also upload activities directly from your phone.
Native apps, including for alternative app stores, would be great. If anyone in the community has experience with native mobile app development and would like to help, we'd love to have more contributors.

⚠️ Important notice for #Proton #VPN users:
Proton VPN is currently blocking https://fitpub.social as malware due to a false positive.
As a temporary workaround, disabling "Block Malware" allows you to access #FitPub normally.
We've already reported the false positive to Proton, but haven't received a response yet. We hope they'll review and remove the incorrect classification soon.

This release brings finer privacy controls, local visibility, commutes, a major federation rewrite, improved profiles, verified email changes, durable email delivery, and a much more capable admin area for users, federation queues, logs, diagnostics, and monitoring.
It also includes extensive reliability, security, performance, and UX improvements.

Tot op heden vind ik ook #fitpub een leuk alternatief voor #strava Thuis/lokaal draai ik dan nog #endurain daar zit een grappige feature in dat je ook je #gear of #fiets en componenten kunt registreren en kan ik dus zien hoeveel km je met je ketting of banden hebt gereden #biketooter https://fitpub.social/@JRoubos

@Jochen_Jansen Ich kenne den User nicht persönlich, auf mich macht er jedoch einen guten Eindruck. Er betreibt seine eigene FitPub-Instanz für seine Aktivitäten und ist auch auf Codeberg unter seinem wahrscheinlich echten Namen aktiv, wo er die Entwicklung von #FitPub mit seinen Fehler-Reports unterstützt.

I'd had a very similar idea sitting in my drawer for a long time, but never found the momentum to turn it into reality. Seeing you build the first version was exactly the spark I needed to get involved.
#FitPub is still just getting started. Every great journey begins with a first step, and you took it. I'm grateful for what you've started and excited to see where the community will take FitPub from here.

Our policy is public in `CONTRIBUTING.md`. AI-assisted contributions must be disclosed, and the contributor remains fully responsible for the submitted code.
Every contribution, AI-assisted or not, is reviewed by humans before it is merged. Since #FitPub is open source, anyone can inspect the code themselves.
If someone still prefers not to use software developed this way, that's their choice. But it's becoming hard to find modern software where #AI played no role.

@ikkeT @fitpub What would you like the app to do? If the goal is to sync activities to #FitPub, we would need access to the #Suunto Cloud API. Unfortunately, getting access isn't straightforward. It requires joining the Suunto Partner Program and signing legal agreements. As a single hobby developer, I can't realistically meet those requirements at the moment.

Second visit to Hackergarten Lucerne today and it was great! 🎉
I continued working on @fitpub, opened 3 new issues, and we had a good discussion with @McPringle and the team about Spring Actuator security. In the end we agreed that Basic Auth is the cleaner and safer solution instead of exposing it on a separate port.
I’m now planning to prepare my Helm Chart for FitPub v1.2.0 with proper actuator configuration (including Prometheus metrics).
Plenty of interesting work ahead!

I finally published the FitPub Helm chart on Artifact Hub! 🎉
Huge thanks to @McPringle for @fitpub - I'm genuinely inspired by the project.
Tested it locally today, and I'm planning to deploy on Infomaniak KaaS. My goal is to make self-hosting FitPub simpler, so I packed in plenty of quick-start commands and solid docs.

I was inspired by my success in optimizing the Docker image (https://codeberg.org/fitpub/fitpub/pulls/340) and have now decided to tackle a slightly more complex task.
Sooo. I'm working on a Helm chart for @fitpub
Right now it's in my personal repository. I'm gradually building it based on the existing Kubernetes manifests from the project, adding proper configuration, PV support, and secrets management.
I'd like to bring CNPG as well, since I do very like it, but maybe later.Next steps:
- Finish the main configuration
- Test it on Infomaniak KaaS (the cheapest Swiss-managed Kubernetes)
- Once it's stable, I'll try to contribute it back to the main project on Codeberg.Repo (work in progress): https://github.com/oliinykdm/fitpub-helm

Po krótkim przetestowaniu FitPub myślę, że po dołożeniu edytora tras (najlepiej z heatmapą wspólną dla userów instancji, bo pewnie globalna byłaby trudna do zrobienia), dodaniu importów z API co popularniejszych komputerków i zegarków sportowych oraz poprawkach wyglądu, mógłby stać się niezłym przyciągaczem nowych ludzi do Fediwersum, kto wie, czy nie lepszym od Pixelfeda i Loops.
Po tym, jak Komoota wykupili złole z VC, a Strava szaleje z cenami, aktywne towarzystwo może szukać miejsc do planowania i udostępniania tras oraz chwalenia się już zrobionymi, więc taki niezależny od korpo serwis może mieć wzięcie.

@Jochen_Jansen Danke für die tollen Bilder und die Anregung! Noch toller finde ich aber den Hinweis auf https://fitpub.social - das kannte ich noch gar nicht. Habe mich nach der Übernahme zwar schon deutlich von #Komoot entfernt, aber noch nicht den letzten Schritt vollzogen. Vielleicht ist #fitpub ja der Stein, der mein Aufregungsfass zum Überlaufen bringt. Mal sehen.
Darf ich fragen, wie Deine Erfahrungen damit sind?
