Před pár dny jsem zkoušel co umí #fitpub respektive instance https://makni.cz od @oscloud. V mém případě je to dobré leda tak na evidenci procházek. Oceňuji možnost si nastavit "Privacy zones", docela přehledné statistiky k aktivitě a také integraci s OpenStreetMap. Naopak mi chybí možnost přidat fotografie k aktivitě. Konec hlášení.

As promised to @McPringle, the @fitpub flyers made it to the office kitchen.

Put them out where people actually stop. Plenty of runners and cyclists in this office, plus developers who might look at the code rather than just the app.

Small thing, but it is the kind of contribution I can make without a merge commit, and the project deserves more eyes than it currently gets.

And another weekly long run is done.
Just a few weeks more till the UTMB Wildstrubel 25.
Doing all these long runs I am more over convinced that I am more a short to middle distance runner.
So after the race in September I am gonna focus on parkruns and 10km races.
Looking forward to do more intense training and racing.

Kdyby náhodou někdo nevěděl — spustili jsme makni.cz, komunitní fitness tracker přímo na Fediverse.

Co to umí? Nahrajete GPX nebo FIT soubor z hodinek nebo cyklopočítače a máte mapu, statistiky, převýšení, osobní rekordy. A to nejlepší — aktivity se dají sdílet a lajkovat přímo odsud z Mastodonu.
A není to jen pro cyklisty a běžce — ať už chodíte po horách, plavete, lovíte kešky nebo prostě rádi chodíte na procházky, makni.cz je pro všechny, kdo se hýbou 🏊‍♂️🥾🧭

Another Hackergarten Luzern, another good evening.

Solved one issue before we even picked it up. Turns out I had closed it weeks ago, the PR was merged, the issue just wasn't closed. So I took two new ones instead. One is done and merged already, the other is more involved, PR is open and still moving.

Also finally got my hands on @fitpub flyers for my colleagues.
A lot of people at work run, ride, commute by bike, and are paying for Strava or Komoot without ever having heard of an open alternative. Good crowd to recruit from, and they get to keep their money and their data.

Thanks as always to @hackergarten and to @McPringle for organising and for the conversations. Already looking forward to the next one.

Spustili jsme makni.cz — protože i nerdi občas odloží klávesnici a vyrazí ven. Někteří dokonce i do kopců, ne jen do serverovny.

@stefanrower @zam @SonstHarmlos #FitPub ist noch ein sehr junges Projekt und wächst derzeit rasant. Aktuell haben für uns noch fehlende Grundfunktionen, ein möglichst zuverlässiger dezentraler Datenaustausch über ActivityPub und natürlich Bugfixes Priorität.

Eine öffentliche, gut dokumentierte API ist aber definitiv geplant. Sie wird die Anbindung anderer Dienste ebenso ermöglichen wie native Apps für Android, iOS und andere Clients. Helfende Hände sind jederzeit willkommen. 🙂

At least on fitpub.social I can see following limits:

1) Maximum file size: 5.0 GB
2) Maximum 1000 activities per ZIP
3) Supported formats: .fit, .gpx, .tcx

My Strava export violates all three:

1) I have *years* of activities on Strava.
2) Same, but this time more severe. 1k activities for moderately active people is not much.
3) Strava export gives some activities as `*.fit.gz` for some reason. I don't think it uses different formats than *.fit, *.gpx, *.tcx.

@MichalBryxi Nice tool! I'd like to better understand the problems you're experiencing when importing #Strava exports directly into #FitPub. I imported my own Strava export without any issues.
