Co to umí? Nahrajete GPX nebo FIT soubor z hodinek nebo cyklopočítače a máte mapu, statistiky, převýšení, osobní rekordy. A to nejlepší — aktivity se dají sdílet a lajkovat přímo odsud z Mastodonu.
A není to jen pro cyklisty a běžce — ať už chodíte po horách, plavete, lovíte kešky nebo prostě rádi chodíte na procházky, makni.cz je pro všechny, kdo se hýbou 🏊‍♂️🥾🧭

Another Hackergarten Luzern, another good evening.

Solved one issue before we even picked it up. Turns out I had closed it weeks ago, the PR was merged, the issue just wasn't closed. So I took two new ones instead. One is done and merged already, the other is more involved, PR is open and still moving.

Also finally got my hands on @fitpub flyers for my colleagues.
A lot of people at work run, ride, commute by bike, and are paying for Strava or Komoot without ever having heard of an open alternative. Good crowd to recruit from, and they get to keep their money and their data.

Thanks as always to @hackergarten and to @McPringle for organising and for the conversations. Already looking forward to the next one.

@stefanrower @zam @SonstHarmlos #FitPub ist noch ein sehr junges Projekt und wächst derzeit rasant. Aktuell haben für uns noch fehlende Grundfunktionen, ein möglichst zuverlässiger dezentraler Datenaustausch über ActivityPub und natürlich Bugfixes Priorität.

Eine öffentliche, gut dokumentierte API ist aber definitiv geplant. Sie wird die Anbindung anderer Dienste ebenso ermöglichen wie native Apps für Android, iOS und andere Clients. Helfende Hände sind jederzeit willkommen. 🙂

1) Maximum file size: 5.0 GB
2) Maximum 1000 activities per ZIP
3) Supported formats: .fit, .gpx, .tcx

My Strava export violates all three:

1) I have *years* of activities on Strava.
2) Same, but this time more severe. 1k activities for moderately active people is not much.
3) Strava export gives some activities as `*.fit.gz` for some reason. I don't think it uses different formats than *.fit, *.gpx, *.tcx.

However, FitPub is available as a Progressive Web App (PWA). On Android, you can install it from your browser and also upload activities directly from your phone.

Native apps, including for alternative app stores, would be great. If anyone in the community has experience with native mobile app development and would like to help, we'd love to have more contributors.

We've already reported the false positive to Proton, but haven't received a response yet. We hope they'll review and remove the incorrect classification soon.

@Jochen_Jansen Ich kenne den User nicht persönlich, auf mich macht er jedoch einen guten Eindruck. Er betreibt seine eigene FitPub-Instanz für seine Aktivitäten und ist auch auf Codeberg unter seinem wahrscheinlich echten Namen aktiv, wo er die Entwicklung von #FitPub mit seinen Fehler-Reports unterstützt.

Thank you, @javahippie, for taking that first step and giving @fitpub its kick-start.

I'd had a very similar idea sitting in my drawer for a long time, but never found the momentum to turn it into reality. Seeing you build the first version was exactly the spark I needed to get involved.

#FitPub is still just getting started. Every great journey begins with a first step, and you took it. I'm grateful for what you've started and excited to see where the community will take FitPub from here.

Our policy is public in `CONTRIBUTING.md`. AI-assisted contributions must be disclosed, and the contributor remains fully responsible for the submitted code.

Every contribution, AI-assisted or not, is reviewed by humans before it is merged. Since #FitPub is open source, anyone can inspect the code themselves.

If someone still prefers not to use software developed this way, that's their choice. But it's becoming hard to find modern software where #AI played no role.

@howking @fitpub #FitPub is still a very young project, so we're grateful for any feedback and suggestions for improvement. The source code is public, and you're very welcome to open issues in our Codeberg repository. We actively consider community feedback, as the many improvements over the past few weeks already show. Pull requests are just as welcome.

Concrete suggestions or issues on Codeberg are especially helpful, as they make it much easier to discuss and improve things.

@ikkeT @fitpub What would you like the app to do? If the goal is to sync activities to #FitPub, we would need access to the #Suunto Cloud API. Unfortunately, getting access isn't straightforward. It requires joining the Suunto Partner Program and signing legal agreements. As a single hobby developer, I can't realistically meet those requirements at the moment.

@elmo @fitpub Sure! All services with #ActivityPub support can follow all profiles on all #FitPub instances, receive new activities in their stream, and like these activities.
