What are some podcasts that talk about indie games/pbta/story games and stuff?
I used to hear about things from the Jankcast (their old AW actual play really helped the game click for me) but they’ve been dead for ages and I haven’t replaced it in my listening.
I know there are a ton of OSR/D&D ones, but I want something that will talk about stuff like Good Society and Masks and Stonetop and stuff.

I like jim’s Protocol games, they are fantastic one shot story games.
One of the new ones is an alternate version of Home, one of my favorites. I’m also really curious about Black Monk.

Been thinking about hacking together a lighter rpg for the barracks drama of a mechwarrior campaign. Use Alpha Strike for the skirmishes, but something more story game for the outside the mech RP.
Games to look at for inspiration, Night Witches, Last Fleet, Lancer, Beam Saber.

I’m seriously thinking about making Blades in the Marsh, but I’m curious what else I can build from in a licensed way.

Blades in the Dark Session Report:
A simple heist - infiltrate the Supply Warehouse, poison the Cheese so that the crew of the salvage ship are struck down with "The Green Curse"!.
All goes well, until the *real* curse arrives - a half-form Tycherosi demon-engine, hungry to be made flesh!
I forced it back into slumber... for now... but it has my scent... -

I think there is a pretty big sandbox campaign structure in Scum and Villainy, with the clocks, factions, heat, and entanglements. But I might need more actual experience with the game to really grasp its full extend and potential.

While thinking about how to set up a custom world for #ScumAndVillainy, it occured to me that the game is inherently designed for sandbox campaigns.
You're just not exploring hexes on a map, but instead interacting with and navigating the factions. Which is why the Procyon Sector has 36 of them. With every job, you can improve your standing with one faction while decreasing it with another faction. You can't step anywhere without stirring up the system of relationships. -

And somehow this works! I feel I understand this world and its complex power dynamics, and could run a great game with just this.

So many #FitD RPGs, and not one about adventurers going into dungeons to raise treasures.
One would think there would be a big demand for that.
But I guess it's difficult to make a game that goes completely against the structure of D&D-style games while matching the fiction of D&D.

@blackcoat And of course, you can always trade position for effect. That might actually be a much more important mechanic than I thought.
A quick Flashback can easily get you Increased Effect, which you can trade to change the Position to Risky or even Controlled.
If your action has a Controlled Position, you can't really screw it up. You always have the choice to just try something else when you fail.

#ScumAndVillainy is a great #ttrpg system that covers about anything you could need in one book.
But are there perhaps any kind of resources for GMs for the game anyway? Not necessarily more game material, but also perhaps just enlightening commentaries on things easily missed or overlooked.
