The Maldives is pleased to host the annual meetings of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission, commencing today in Malé.
Kicking off this two-week series of engagements, the Compliance Committee meets as the first in a sequence of technical and Commission discussions that will bring together members, observers, and stakeholders from across the Indian Ocean and beyond.
The Compliance Committee plays a critical role in reviewing the implementation of conservation and management measures, strengthening monitoring, control and surveillance (MCS), and promoting transparency and accountability across the region’s tuna fisheries.
