Me: attempts to make it the app which quick-opens from lock screen.
Android: NO! Only [short list of default apps] do not require unlock.
Me: [Searches for a way to give the app permission to operate when phone is locked]

A 4 year old Stack Exchange answer: The /app/ has to ask for permission to operate outside the lock screen. Maybe ask the developer if that can be included.

#2FA means when you accidentally soak your mobile device in the hot pools getting into your assorted online accounts on other devices is suddenly really difficult 🤬

I can't check my bank balance online. I can only access my email accounts on devices+applications where they were already logged in, & /that/ means if for some reason I am arbitrarily logged out on those by the server I can't even use them for other password resets / account recovery.
