  1. Kiki Smith, Tattoo Print, 1995. Smith’s work has been a lifelong influence on my visual work, jewellery design as well as my writing. I love this print of tattoo ‘flash’—with all its vulvamorphia and decorative motifs. Among the ubiquitous ‘first tattoo’ of butterflies there’s a ghostly (self)portrait, tendons, a tailbone and a scrotum. #KikiSmith #inspiration #tattoo #TattooFlash #feministArt #WomenArtists #Printmaking #art #doodle #FirstTattoo

  2. So, I did a thing yesterday. I wanted this tattoo to celebrate some of who Michael was, rather than defining him by his death. He always wore a bandana (usually black). He 3D printed a bunch of these little hanging guys (also sitting/standing) and put them all over the school. He was LGBTQ+ but ever so much more than a label. He was colorful despite his love of black, and stories his friends, classmates and teachers told showed him to be even kinder than I knew. #firsttattoo #forever17
