  1. #Australia and the #RoyalFamily's #Genocide of Aboriginal People

    By #BrendaNorrell, #CensoredNews, June 16, 2026

    "The Victorian Court of Appeal reserved its decision on whether Aboriginal rights campaigner Uncle #RobbieThorpe can hold #KingCharlesIII responsible for genocide. Thorpe is seeking to overturn a ruling that blocked his attempt to bring genocide-against #KingCharles III and other Crown representatives.

    " 'Thorpe, a #Krauatungalung Elder and long-time advocate for Aboriginal sovereignty, appeared before a panel of judges in the Supreme Court of Victoria on Wednesday, arguing that Australian courts have failed to adequately address what he describes as the ongoing genocide of #FirstPeoples' reports SBS.

    "While Australian Aboriginals want King Charles III held responsible for genocide -- at the same time, the National Congress of American Indians in the United States, in an article by #ICT, honors King Charles. ICT reported on a recent visit, turning it into play and fashion.

    "Prince Andrew was arrested, his title removed, and he was removed from the Royal residence, after photos in the #EpsteinFiles verify that he was with minors exploited. He is now under investigation for the sexual abuse of minors and related crimes."

  3. I highly suggest #bookmarking this incredibly in-depth, amazing #Educational #resource for #IndigenousFoods of #Canada 👇
    Important educational project that's still in progress & continually updated!

    The #StudentEncyclopedia of Indigenous Foods of Canada is an initiative by agriculture #students at the University of Guelph (Canada) under the supervision of Prof. Manish N. Raizada (Editor) and talented graduate students including from the #FirstNations and #Metis communities. The mission of the Encyclopedia is to share the rich food and agriculture history of the First Nations, Metis and #Inuit peoples of Canada. Editing of the Encyclopedia remains in progress; however, the site has been published to allow early access.

    #Beach gooseneck #barnacles find.
    There's 3 different types of barnacles found in BC waters/on beaches - acorn, gooseneck & whale - the latter grows on whales' bodies. Barnacles are a longtime, year-round staple #seafood for coastal #Indigenous #FirstNations. In particular, the #Haida & #Kwakwakawakw & #Pacheedaht #FirstPeoples have several documented stories involving barnacles, including food prep recorded histories.

    Barnacles are #ancient and can be dated to the middle of Cambrian period of Paleozoic because of Burgess Shale deposits in #BritishColumbia. They're #hermaphroditic #MarineAnimals.

  5. Learn more about #ChiefMaquinna.

    This is a collection of words, photos and video clips for Hyas Tyee #Nuuchahnulth - Chief Maquinna. A greatly respected & important Chief of the Nuuchahnulth #Haida People, of the Haida Gwaii Islands, in #BritishColumbia #Canada.

    Chief Maquinna (also transliterated: Muquinna, Macuina, Maquilla) was the Chief of the Nuuchahnulth People of #NootkaSound, during the heyday of the maritime fur trade in the 1780s and 1790s, on the #PacificNorthwest Coast.

    British explorer #CaptainCook went looking (like so many #Europeans before and after him)or the Northwest Passage. He ran headlong into a thriving trade and business culture on the west coast, overseen by young Nuu-chah-nulth, Chief Maquinna.

    The two men's encounter would forever change trans-Pacific trade and teach the European empire a lesson in diplomacy, they've managed to forget, many times over.

  6. #BLAKLOVE rolls down the tracks!

    The #Melbourne #ArtTrams have been rolling around the largest tram network in the world in 2022, with six trams featuring designs by #FirstPeoples artists.

    The collected works each respond to the theme “Unapologetically Blak”.

    And more than three decades later a design by acclaimed artist, painter and sculptor Lin Onus (#YortaYorta) hits the tracks for the first time since 1991—a harmonious symbol of balanced opposites: circles and diamonds, day and night, black and white cockatoos.

    2022 ARTISTS :

    * Lin Onus (Yorta Yorta)
    * Louise Moore (Wamba)
    * Patricia Mckean (Gunditjmara/Kirrae Wurrong)
    * Dr Paola Balla (Wemba-Wemba/Gunditjmara)
    * Tegan Murdock (Burapa)
    * Darcy McConnell / Enoki (Yorta Yorta/Dja Dja Wurrung)

    I’ll share various web sourced pictures here… and I hope to do some #tramspotting on my return to the big smoke next week.

    Here’s the #LinOnus original (first #indigenous painted #tram), from 1991.

    It’s lovely :firstnations
