En #PublicImage, la autora escocesa Muriel Spark nos plantea la lucha entre la simulación y la identidad genuina en pos de una imagen que la protagonista se termina creyendo. Esa será la inspiración para que John Lydon titulara la agrupación que formara una vez terminada la accidentada y corta carrera de los Sex Pistols. Quizás no sea ninguna casualidad esa elección. La agrupación creada por Malcolm Mclaren había tenido mucho de su razón de ser (más allá de sus incuestionables aportes) en… la publicidad. El debut discográfico será con #FirstIssue que tendrá su lanzamiento el 8 de diciembre de 1978 y será una referencia obligada del post punk que daba sus primeros pasos.
