More #FirestormArmada. Pink underlayer, ProAcryl Warm Yellow airbrushed top layer, PA Golden Yellow edge highlights. The metallic parts are a payne's grey base, then Vallejo game air silver and PA Burgundy gradient for the lenses.
These Sorylians will be the last of my old Spartan FSA. I've got no inspiration for the Terrans and there's a friend I'd rather give them to and see what he comes up with.

Still working through an old box of Spartan #FirestormArmada models. The game is having an odd little resurgence at my local, and this brings me up to two fully painted basic fleets. The paint job is ivory and burgundy (Pro Acryl) base layers with a black wash and heavy brighter drybrushing. I wanted a slightly mottled and worn look. And of course the plunging red slash the dagger-like warships need.

Distrobox is neat!
So I've been running #Firestorm for #SecondLife against a local Mesa build in #Debian because Debian has ancient crap versions of everything. I like the stability but running modern stuff can involve a lot of workarounds, sometimes distro breaking workarounds.
And now I can just spin up Bazzite, and launch Firestorm without the local Mesa... and it actually gives me better performance in some locations than the old solution!
Get what I like about Debian without the downsides(at the cost of some disk space, but that's a small cost) or the VM shenanigans I'd have previously used. #Linux -

Goofing around with some old #FirestormArmada Aquan spaceships. There's a guy at the local with a humongous collection that came out of hiding and I'd forgotten how much I like the game. Especially compared to the bloated lumbering mess that the third edition of #DystopianWars has become (the publisher actually agrees with me, they're working on a new edition to fix those problems).

The "Linux Early Access (Beta Channel) – 7.1.12.77211" version of Firestorm fixed most of the FPS drops and lag I had with Second Life. If you left SL because of lag, you may want to check out the same version for your operating system.

#fires #firestorm #pasadenafires I’m feeling a wee bit weird right now. I live near the periphery of the Eaton fire, LA, Pasadena, and have 0 to fear, odds are great but I live in a large building, and just realized that I am the only one on my floor still here out of 11 units. Empty halls. The rest have gone south to avoid bad air quality or worse. Forty people still in this historic 7 floor building, but none are left on my floor. Feels creepy as hell. Tho’ I know it’s very safe.
