We're here for anyone who is needing a new #firefish home, after the sad demise of #firefishLGBT
We welcome everyone -- but do not tolerate twats with no respect for others.

Welp. A major weakness of the fediverse just punched me in the gut. Entire server of new relationships gone, permanently. I hope that fedi develops ways to mitigate for disasters like this. Maybe it already exists? Can I backup my follower list on different platforms? The downside of pioneer tech. #firefishlgbt

In 2017(!), I made a Tumblr post analyzing Sister Claire, the webcomic and webfiction series by Elena Barbarich and Ash Barnes. Though the story is really good, it's difficult for a new reader to figure out the best order to read it in. I compared and evaluated several possible reading orders and made an argument about which one I thought was the best.
Six years later the story continues to update with more awesome every weekday, but it is no more approachable than it was before. I think it's time to update my old Tumblr post and move it to the fediverse.
The problem is, my old blog post is over 15,000 characters long, and the edits I'll need to make will likely add at least 2,000 characters. #FireFishLGBT only gives me 3000 characters. So, what to do? #WebComics #WebFiction #SisterClaire #SisterClaireComic #IHateLowCharacterLimits #Firefish #Plume #WriteFreely #Fediverse #QueerComics -

The #FirefishLGBT (previously #CalckeyLGBT) admin team are super excited to announce that our new home, https://firefish.lgbt, is now ready for the masses!
A server migration will be needed from individual users, but thanks to the power of this platform, all your settings, followed accounts, followers, and even posts can be easily migrated to the new instance. We have posted a HOWTO guide (https://firefish.lgbt/@admin/pages/migrate-firefish) to hopefully make things a bit easier for everyone to understand the process.
calckey.lgbt will remain standing for 60 days to give everyone the time to move everything over.
We love you all!
