The valley where we spend our holidays has a strict "without #fireworks and #firecrackers" policy on #newyearseve. In order to protect animals from the noise and the environment (including humans) from the massive particulate polution.
They do projections and music streams instead.

It isn't the #NewYear till another 7 hours and some neighbors are already launching #firecrackers. Most firecrackers are banned, and #police are reminded to not fire their #guns. Yeah. Imagine that. Guns instead of firecrackers.
I think the government's done a pretty decent job with their yearly anti-firecrackers campaign. A lot less hospitalizations due to firecracker incidents than in those years before they got strict with the ban.
