Civilization VII: что изменилось в механике смены эпох после патча 1.4.0
Серия Civilization всегда строилась вокруг одной простой идеи: взять маленькое поселение и провести его через всю историю — от древности до современности. Именно это ощущение долгого развития и делало партии такими затягивающими. Вы постепенно строили империю, переживали войны, кризисы, научные прорывы и наблюдали, как ваша держава меняется спустя сотни игровых лет. Но в Civilization VII Firaxis решила заметно встряхнуть привычную формулу. Кампанию разделили на три эпохи, а при переходе между ними игра предлагала сменить цивилизацию. Одним игрокам такой подход понравился из-за свежих механик, а другие быстро начали скучать по классическому ощущению одной большой истории. Мнения тут полярные. Давайте разбираться, что там и как.

#Firaxis just announced "Test of Time", a free update for #CivilizationVII and honestly, it feels like the game I was waiting for since launch.
The forced #civ-switching between Ages is gone 🔥 You now start as one civilisation and stay as one, with customised cultural combinations that shape how your empire evolves. Exactly what I called from day one.
(The old Age-switching is still there for those who want it)
Add a reworked Victory system, 90+ new Triumph objectives and a new map type on top of that, and Civ 7 has gone from a frustrating mess to something actually worth my time.
Now we only need the Modern Age — and maybe a Future Age — and the game is complete.
Drops 19 May 2026. Better late than never.

As the title says: Firaxis has currently a developer sale going on, and all their big titles are on sale (exception: Alpha Centauri, which is not on sale).
This includes everything from Civ3 to Civ7, with the excepton of some of the Civ6 DLCs.
Civ7 is currently 35% off, Civ6 and DLCs between 25 and 50%, and the rest of the games/addons/DLCs between 10-80%.At the same time also the other franchises are on sale, including XCOM and Marvel Midnight Suns, with discounts for the main titles and DLCs between 20 to 90%.

#Firaxis has announced on Twitter that Civilization Revolution 2 #CivRev2 is not anymore listed in the Google play store.
This means you cannot newly buy the game, but as long as it is installed you can still play it.Curiously this does not apply to the iOS app store, where it is still available.

Today the #Firaxis community manager Sarah dropped by at CivFanatics to announce that the monthly challenges for #Civ6 (similar to our "Game Of The Month") are now finally available also to console players. You can already participate in the current challenge on PlayStation and XBox. Switch players will hopefully get the update tomorrow.

The recent trend of live-service games and MMOs has lead to a worrying trend: Games get shut down, and nobody can play them anymore. With Civ, this has not been an issue, as all games are stand-alone, and you don’t need a server from #Firaxis. But many other games have recently been shut down, and now a petition has been started to stop this. This might be relevant for #Civ in the future, so support https://www.stopkillinggames.com/ .
