Finally learning how to implement a FIR filter. Compared to the material available on FFTs, I find this material to be dense, hard to read and diagrams to be absent.

When looking for example implementations you often bump across the original 1973 Fortran, which from a learning standpoint seems pretty impenetrable.

Further confusion arises from the different methods to implement a FIR as well as from the dinstinction between performing the operation and generating the taps.
