For those of us who remember how Harper handled #FIPA -- the secrecy, the unecessary concessions, etc -- Carney's repeated fumbling of the trade war now makes more sense.
On FIPA, Harper "demonstrated the worst negotiating skills since Neville Chamberlain"; the terms Harper agreed to were "unprecedented and would be laughed out of Britain, Brussels, Canberra or Washington". Definintely the guy you want advising your team, right?

/42 win for China, not for Canada. If Canada wanted to back out of a deal on any said policy within the deal i.e. pipelines, vaccines, etc., Canada is on the hook for millions/billions of $$. Canada could also be brought in to International Criminal Court for failing to meet requirements of said deal. /41 Poilievre, O'Toole, Scheer, Fast were all involved in the FIPA 31 year agreement that Stephen Harper rushed to push through and signed in RUSSIA. All the issues we have been having with China come from this agreement.
