But I just can't get your loveFinley Quaye’s debut album “Maverick A Strike” with its first single “Sunday Shining” met with pop success in his native UK, but his music seemingly will never have the breadth or influence of his more prolific nephew #Tricky. Nevertheless this is some of the most engaging, delightful music I know. Catchy? Absolutely. Lightweight? Nah/Who cares.
I’ve never thought deeply about the lyrics here; this track is the sound of a sunny summer day, the sound of joy. The album has generous helpings of #reggae flavor, but this is a #rock song, driven by a #guitar countermelody churning below vocals that call to mind #RolandGift of #FineYoungCannibals with some much-needed character from a night of cigarettes and whiskey.
