The nice thing when working with linseed oil (besides all the other advantages like not needing turpentine to clean your tools or not needing to use a respirator) is that you can spread it with your fingers.
This gives you a great feel for any spots that need more oil and you don't have any rugs to take care of. (Also it smells great.) 1/3

Been applying a wipe-on finish to a chair project.
The nitrile gloves I've been wearing have literally been filling up with sweat in the warm (80+ F) temps. Literally had sweat drip out of the gloves and on to the chair
I have some cotton BBQ gloves (aka glove liners) I got for other uses. So I tried wearing those under the nitrile gloves.
It worked! No puddles of sweat.
So, if you have sweaty hands under nitrile gloves giving you problems, try cotton inner gloves to absorb the sweat.
Don't know if anyone else will find this useful or not.
Doubt that I'm the first to do this.

@lockwood Same advise as Jami Gibs. Have done it many times on elderly tops. My favourite oil is Hardwax Oil from Chestnut. Be careful, do it fast - wipe and polish at once! I use it on both refurbished and new tabletops. This one is twosome of same plank glued together.
Edit: Does not look veneered to me but if – take care. My quess it's floorplanks glued together with stain on to make it look like hardwood. Thats why the worn spot…
