Non-binding poll time:
Should I make an audio version of my story, Imperfect Cadence?
Visually impaired folks get double votes for obvious reasons.
(Boosts ok)

Finally playing The Alters.
Yeah okay I wrote a version of this. A _Duplicate_, you might say.
Wondering if we were fishing in the same stream or if there was actual inspiration...

Due to +++inflation+++ all prices on my books will be going up after 10 years of not doing it.
Buy 'em now to lock in the lower price, or...ask your library to get a copy (I make them free for libraries).

#WritersCoffeeClub 1 Feb: Shameless self-promotion. What writing project are you working on?
As with all self-promo this is tagged #FineFiction.
I have two WIPs:
1. The Dream Makers. Yeah, so it's a simulation. What if it was your job to make sure the simulation runs smoothly?
2. Hatchling Magic, the sequel to Roughskin Magic. In a world nearly destroyed by capitalist greed and the apocalyptic return of magic, how can kids thrive and make a difference?

If you enjoyed "Imperfect Cadence", or maybe if you had trouble getting into it due to a less-than-encyclopedic knowledge of Greek myth, I made an annotated version.
This was a lot of fun and I may do it with other stories in the future, but this one REALLY needs it.

As with the other, the story is free to read! No upsell here. Do something nice for someone else.

I would have missed my god, there on the T platform, but he was playing my tune. "Come On Eileen", on pan flute, is the sort of thing that will catch your attention.
"It's a delivery, Tim-o-the-morn."
I shook my head slowly. "I thought we talked about that."
"Nothing illegal. Nothing harmful." He paused. "Not like last time."
These conversations never took long. Either I said yes, or he vanished and my luck went sour for a week.

#WritersCoffeeClub Oct 6. Have you mixed genres in your work? Would you?
I'm not sure I could stay in one genre if I tried! Last published novel was a cyberpunk action thriller romance?
And today's hot-off-the-presses story is, err, I'm not even sure what. A Bildungsroman except the character is quite old? I can't figure it out.
But you can read it for free here and decide for yourself!

(If you hate self-publicity, mute my #FineFiction tag.)
Do you like free stories?
Do you like obscure Greek myth and cranky old music-lovers and mysteries?
Then I have a story for you! "Imperfect Cadence" is now available--for free--on my website. Enjoy! And if you like it, let someone else know?

Looking for a Sunday read?
All my novels are 50% off at Smashwords as part of their July sale!
Do you need to sign up through their needlessly complex account creation process? Yes. But they are a super helpful marketplace for indie authors, and rarely spam me with junk.

(Please boost if you like my stuff. Thx!)

#WritingWonders Day 28: If your MC could live anywhere in our world, where would they choose?
Roughskin Magic: Jason doesn't have a single place he fits in, so, nowhere at the outset. Fozzie thinks oppositely: he strives to make where he is a place he (and others) would want to live in.
Amir (from WIP): This is, essentially, the plot of The Dream Makers, so I guess we'll find out? (This is not me being cute. I am a complete pantser, and can't say I know yet.)

EDIT: I have two folks lined up! Thanks everybody for having boosted it.
EDIT 2: Old man math meant I underbaked the pay on this. Raised to $50.My publisher is looking for two #blind sensitivity / test readers, to make sure a story with prominent blind characters doesn't set a foot wrong.
This is a paid opportunity: a flat fee of $25^H^H50 USD for feedback on a deadline. Story is roughly 20,000 words.

Print edition of #RoughskinMagic now revised with latest line edits. Hit up Lulu for paper version, anywhere for electronic, or ask your local library to buy a copy (it's free for them!).
