Jeśli zgubiliście telefon w lesie, standardowa, płaska mapa Google niewiele wam powie. Na szczęście gigant z Mountain View wdraża właśnie funkcję, która powinna być tu od dawna.

Aplikacja do lokalizowania urządzeń (teraz pod nową nazwą Find Hub zyskuje obsługę warstw.

W każdym razie rzeczona ]aplikacja otrzymuje aktualizację interfejsu, która upodabnia ją do pełnoprawnych Map Google.

Satelita, teren i… korki

Do tej pory aplikacja oferowała tylko podstawowy widok wektorowy. W najnowszej wersji na Androida (3.1.485-2) pojawia się mały, „pływający” przycisk (tzw. FAB, od Floating Action Button) pod przełącznikiem konta, który pozwala zmienić typ mapy. Do wyboru mamy teraz:

• Satelita: kluczowe, gdy szukamy urządzenia poza miastem, w parku czy na łące – łatwiej zorientować się w terenie, widząc drzewa i charakterystyczne punkty.
• Teren: przydatne w górzystych obszarach.
• Ruch drogowy: choć brzmi to zabawnie w kontekście szukania telefonu, może pomóc oszacować, jak szybko dotrzemy do zguby zostawionej w taksówce czy autobusie.

Warto przypomnieć, że Google jest w trakcie rebrandingu swojej usługi. Nazwa „Find My Device” jest stopniowo zastępowana przez Find Hub. Zmiana ta ma odzwierciedlać szersze zastosowanie aplikacji – teraz służy ona nie tylko do szukania telefonów, ale też lokalizatorów (trackerów), słuchawek, a docelowo także udostępniania lokalizacji bliskich.

Nowe warstwy są wdrażane stopniowo (tzw. server-side update) i globalnie, więc jeśli jeszcze ich nie widzicie – powinny pojawić się w ciągu kilku dni.

Nowości te mają na celu usprawnienie współpracy między urządzeniami w ekosystemie Androida oraz ułatwienie życia podróżującym, wyraźnie nawiązując do rozwiązań znanych z konkurencyjnej platformy Apple.

Muzyka podąża za użytkownikiem

Pierwszą nowością jest funkcja „Device Connectivity”, która wprowadza sugestie transferu mediów za pomocą jednego dotknięcia. W praktyce oznacza to, że w sekcji przełączania wyjścia audio (media output switcher) pojawią się inteligentne podpowiedzi, sugerujące przeniesienie odtwarzania na inne urządzenie znajdujące się w pobliżu.

Rozwiązanie to jest realizacją zapowiedzi Google jeszcze ze stycznia 2023 roku. Firma obiecywała wówczas system, w którym powiadomienia na telefonie lub tablecie będą pytać użytkownika, czy chce przenieść dźwięk np. na głośniki w samochodzie, słuchawki lub domowy telewizor, w zależności od zmiany fizycznej lokalizacji. Choć opis w najnowszej aktualizacji sugeruje konieczność wejścia w panel sterowania mediami, a nie tylko reakcję na powiadomienie, jest to wyraźny krok w stronę płynności znanej użytkownikom iPhone’ów i HomePodów. Partnerami technologicznymi tego rozwiązania mają być m.in. Spotify oraz YouTube Music.

Zgubiony bagaż? Wyślij link linii lotniczej

Druga nowość dotyczy sekcji „Bezpieczeństwo i Prywatność” i jest bezpośrednio powiązana z siecią Find My Device. Google wprowadza obsługę udostępniania lokalizacji przedmiotów za pomocą bezpiecznego linku URL.

Wiele wskazuje na to, że jest to fundament pod funkcję zapowiedzianą na konferencji Google I/O 2025, która ma ułatwić odzyskiwanie zagubionego bagażu. Użytkownik lokalizatora zgodnego z siecią Google (Find Hub) będzie mógł wygenerować tymczasowy link do położenia swojej walizki i udostępnić go bezpośrednio liniom lotniczym.

Jest to rozwiązanie bliźniaczo podobne do funkcji „Share Item Location”, którą Apple wprowadza właśnie w systemie iOS 18.2. Dzięki temu obsługa lotniska będzie mogła szybciej zlokalizować zgubę, zamiast polegać na werbalnym opisie pasażera.
