I just finished my degree and was ready to hit the ground running, but life had other plans. My car’s transmission just died, my partner lost their job, and we’re currently 2 miles from the nearest bus stop.

So I mentioned that I got fired.

Hurt my knee from standing up at work all the time on a knee that wasn't great to begin with. Was sitting on the stool behind the counter a bunch when not dealing with customers, assistant manager even sliding it over and no one mentioning it the entire time I've worked there.

Couple weeks ago I fuck my knee badly and need to go to the hospital. Next day manager, Amanda, is like "whatever the issue is, let me know. If you need time off then I can arrange that. However we can help." I initially said no to time off but then changed my mind and asked for a week off. She immediately got angry and frustrated. After a bit she makes a phone call standing right next to me and doing nothing which is rare. 99% of the time she goes into the back room to take calls. This time she's stood there with her boss and asking if there's any way to get help to cover my shifts or if she has to do her shift and my shift. Was trying to guilt me for what I asked.

I get back and first day I'm sat down on the stool like normal. She says that there are forms to fill out that will allow me to sit while serving people instead of sitting down when not serving people. Cool. Next day it changes to needing the forms filled to sit on the stool at all and sitting on the stool by anyone is against policy. I'm okay with it at first, like frustrated but being polite but then I say "this is affects everyone and not just me right?" and she immediately gets defensive. Says no one else does it and I say they do. Again, assistant manager openly gives the stool to me because of my knee. Fine. I'll pay the fee to fill the form out during next weeks appointment.

Go to work the next day, assistant manager gives me stool because manager isn't there that day. At the end of the day I get a call saying she checked the cameras earlier in the day, saw me on the stool, and I broke policy so I'm fired.

Wasn't the best job in the world, was wearing me down in a lot of ways, but still was income and employment. Being fucked this close to end of month isn't exactly fun. So there's the explanation of what went wrong. Been depression napping when not actively looking for work. Going to sell a couple things to put towards and bills/rent/transportation/stuff for how knows how long. One of those things is my Playstation account which comes with a ton of games. It is $3500 but has minimum of $4500 worth of games on its own with far more via PS Plus over the years. If you're interested, take a look. If not give it a share to someone who might be. I know its pricy but I'm open to a negotiation.
