Been streaming my music collection from #Jellyfin in a browser tab on desktop, but today decided to give a dedicated music app a try. #Finamp is pretty badass! I love being able to set it up to prefer local access but still be able to fallback to a non-local connection when not at home. I'm looking forward to playing around with it more. Browser tabs be gone!

Einige Alben höre ich immer wieder und will sie besitzen (als DRM-freier Download).

Die kanonischen Alben von Linkin Park gehören dazu, weil die der "Soundtrack meiner Schulzeit" waren.

Die Diskografie ist für mich: Hybrid Theory, Reanimation, Meteora, 10 Jahre irgendwas elektronisches, Stille, Comeback mit Sarah Armstrong

Außerdem noch mehrere Alben von Saltatio Mortis und Vogelfrey (beides Mittelalter-Bands) weil E-Gitarren und Dudelsäcke so gut zusammen passen.

Die Alben kann ich dann aus Tidal entfernen und über Finamp hören, sobald sie in Jellyfin verfügbar sind.

Ich habe mir nun auch mal die neue #Finamp Version heruntergeladen und ich bin einfach schwer begeistert. Sieht wirklich sauber aus und funktioniert bisher auch um einiges schneller als die vorherige Version. ❤️

Two for S&G today. Seeing them a lot recently.

Currently very busy setting up #JellyFin. I'm liking it very much, especially with the #FinAmp client.

Sooo much serotonin getting all the cover art, tags, naming conventions etc. right.

And rediscovering all of my old CDs, and whatever I've discovered since I bought those, is joy in and of itself!

I have this now ancient Philips DVD burner from 15+ years ago that I still use for ripping cds. So reliable.

A shout out to the #Discovery app in #KDEPlasma which does such a great job, and pulls in music tags from #MusicBrainz.

I like #FinAmp too, although I now mostly keep my music collection locally on my phone as #ogg files, and use #Phocid.

Well, all I can say is that I never have a streaming issue when traveling. 🤣

I've been processing some songs with MusicBrainz Picard in my spare time and the experience with Jellyfin has improved so much! It automatically finds all the metadata reliably, songs are in the correct order, there are no weird duplicate items... I also added a lyrics plugin to the Jellyfin instance and it automatically found most of the lyrics for the music online. Combined with Finamp, it is so enjoyable to use!

#Linux is so fun. The ability to install your #OS and then replace it for free is just awesome. #Ubuntu #MATE #2404 and mate tweak is so easy to switch your desktop. I can just Samba into my main desktop to access files, stream music using #Finamp.

I’ve been using #finamp on iOS for quite a while and only recently did I realize I was using a “stable” release from the App Store and not the beta test flight versions

There’s a ton of functionality and polish in the latter. Don’t let the “beta” name frighten you, it’s been completely stable for me on top of a bunch of bug fixes compared to the “stable” release

You can also use Jellyfin to stream your music as well. I'm using #Finamp as a music client for Jellyfin on Android :)

@vkc your recent video on ditching streaming is resonating deeply with me! I've been on #jellyfin / #finamp for about 6 months now and have loved every second of it.

At first, I was a bit annoyed by the exact mental difficulty I was presented with when looking at my library and having to actually chose what I wanted to listen to, but I've since learned that this is actually a good thing! Im no longer cognitive offloading (real term I recently learned) my choice in media to an algo! Woohoo!

@vavakado Yeah, just canceled my Spotify subscription recently and moved my old music library to Jellyfin. I'm using #Finamp on Android and it's working great so far.

Fixing the metadata for my library is a bit of a hassle though 😂

Just a good shuffle on #Finamp before bed.

Ist schick, läuft gut, transkodiert fein (aktuell auf Opus 160 kbit einegstellt)!

#Feishin auf dem Desktop/Browser fand ich bisher auch ganz cool, fühlt sich ähnlich wie ein kommerzieller Streamingdienst an ohen den ganzen Müll. Ist aber auch noch in einer "Rewrite-Phase": https://github.com/jeffvli/feishin

Die offiziellen #Jellyfin-Apps sind wirklich nicht toll so aus Musik-Hör-Perspektive.
