Hab heute mal wieder Final Girl gespielt. "The Haunting of Creech Manor"
Hat mir besser gefallen als "The Happy Trails Horror"
Ich kann gar nicht sagen warum, aber so ein Spukhaus find ich vom Setting einfach "netter" als den Serienkiller auf dem Campingplatz.
Ich werde mir sicherlich noch ein drittes holen. Schade, dass es nur Solo ist, könnte ich mir auch sehr gut als 2 Player Coop vorstellen.

First game of Final Girl. I did not make it. But I had a lot of fun! I think I'd like to play through a few more times before forming a full opinion, but it feels like I could get a lot of play out of it. The additional feature films all look tempting.

Im Solotober hab ich jetzt mal wieder Final Girl - The Happy Trails Horror gespielt und endlich mit Laurie Hans the Butcher erledigt.
Es ist ein tolles Solospiel aber durch die Würfelei schon eine arge Glückssache.

Gestern habe ich meine erste Partie Final Girl probiert. Ich hab leider nicht überlebt.
Aber die erste Partie war auch eher um die Mechaniken zu verstehen. Es ist mein erstes reines Solospiel und ich glaube, es gefällt mir.Das Thema ist, das Final Girl muss überleben und den Serienmörder, in meinem Fall Hans the Butcher am Badesee töten. Dabei gilt es noch andere Badegäste zu retten - kein Muss aber von Vorteil.
Dazu spielt man Karten aus und würfelt. Das fiese ist, der Killer wird mit jedem Mord stärker.
Das Thema ist nichts für jede:n aber ich hab als junger Mensch Horrorfilme geliebt.

Ich denke jüngst verstärkt über #20Strong und #FinalGirl nach. Sollte die mal auf den Tisch bekommen, um diesen [ääh Ohrwurm für #brettspiele ?] loszuwerden.
Heute Abend gibt's erstmal die nächste Runde #Distilled, zu dritt wohl. Bin gespannt, ob ich eine Strategie durchschaue, die mir diesmal zum Sieg verhilft. Bei der letzten Runde hab ich knapp verloren. -
I have a bad habit of feeling too tired to do anything, but too bored to keep watching mindless entertainment. #solotober2023 legitimately helped me to realize how energizing these solo games can be, and it got me to take another whack at Final Girl: Panic at Station 2891. This time, my partner (who was the one who purchased Final Girl in the first place but still hasn't played it) kept me company.
I did a lot better this time, both by luck and by strategy. I made an effort to find some weapons and test kits early, then started my testing. Only one of the three Exposed Victims ended up being a Mutated Organism, and I managed to kill it! Only for it to have the +3 final health token. The game ended when it got two attacks off on me in one round when I flubbed a Guard roll. It had a single health left. Sigh.
I know that this is a luck fest and it's a pain to set up, but I'm a sucker for good theme and this nails it so hard. I need to play this more often (and go back to the Alien one - I got really lucky the last time I played it and I want to see what it's like when that doesn't happen).

To close out #solotober2023, I played Final Girl: Panic at Station 2891. A fitting outcome for Halloween, too: alone in the cold, dark research station, surrounded by alien monsters, unarmed, with no chance of rescue.
I definitely played this way too slow. Instead of getting survivors out, I should've been collecting items and testing the exposed victims. With the goal of killing all the Mutated Organisms, I didn't manage to deal a single point of damage to any of them. It also didn't help that I lost three victims to frostbite on turn 2.
This was a mess and I loved it. I still think that setup and teardown for this whole game system is cumbersome, and it's an enormous table hog, but for a thematic dice fest, it really can't be beat.

My partner picked up #FinalGirl a while back, so I got myself the #Alien pack for it, #IntoTheVoid. Just finished my first playthrough. I feel like I got incredibly lucky with my events and items, which led to a fairly easy victory.
The xenomorph only managed one kill, then climbed into a vent and stayed there until the final moments of the game, only to drop down as the escape pod door slammed shut and the self destruct countdown hit zero.

Definitely a good purchase for me as a horror fan. I’m looking forward to playing the next movie box, Frightmare on Maple Lane.
