CW: Final Fantasy 10 plot and villain
Overall, I think the story of FF10 is pretty strong for a videogame, especially from 2001. Lots of things going on that have meaningful payoff.
But others kind of go nowhere. The collapse of the Temple, the Guado, and the Ronzo happens almost entirely off-screen. The confrontation with Grand Maester Mika is blink and you miss it.
And Seymour ceases to be relevant after Bevelle, but you randomly fight him two more times anyway. -
Final Fantasy 10 Post-Game is weird!
Right before the final fight, and in the monster arena and with the Dark Eaons, hit points no longer matter. When they hit, the character is dead. No sense in healing anyone's hp after raising them back from K.O.

Final Fantasy 10 minigames are all about fighting the controls and the camera.
They are all stupid, and would be trivial if you had decent controls.
Reminds me of a quote about golf: "It's a sport in which you try to get a ball into a hole with an instrument supremely unsuited for the task."

@kzurawel I am playing the game again right now after 15 years or so, and the biggest surprise is how Tidus is not an obnoxious self-absorbed little shit like I remembered.
I think it's his visual design that is obnoxious self-absorbed little shit coded, and the voice direction is sometimes questionable.But what he says and does is pretty much always sensible and appropriate. A different character design and voice work, and he could be perfectly nice with the same script.

I am really surprised that Final Fantasy X has actual difficulty.
It was the first FF I played probably 15 years ago, and since then I only played 13 and recently 12.12 and 13 have no difficulty and play themselves without the player having to do any real planning and managing resources. 10 makes you work for it! There's regular random encounters where just healing characters close to 0 won't be enough. Bosses take several tries.
What happened to the later games?! 🤔

I am not sure how noticeable it was in the original PS2 game, but in the HD remaster, Yuna's big stompers look like a very interesting choice to go with her wispy dress.
Though she did set out on a quest to visit all the major temples in the known world mostly on foot, so this might have been more a practical consideration than a fashion choice.
Still, the boots look like they make up a sizeable majority of the total weight of her entire outfit. -
