    Something I've noticed over the years of watching a lot of CGI in film making.

    Firstly, the Uncanny Valley - the way things that look almost alive are creepy - is real. Unless you get it exactly right, CGI characters that are almost life-like become creepy dolls, no matter the context.

    The second is that that valley is different for everyone. What I find creepy in an animated character might not trigger someone else, and vis versa.

    This means that it is almost impossible for filmmakers to create a movie entirely populated with CGI that does not creep out at least some people.
