"Duel of the Fates" is a #musicalTheme recurring in the Star Wars #prequelTrilogy and the #ExpandedUniverse. It was composed by #JohnWilliams and recorded for the #filmSoundtrack of #StarWarsEpisodeIThePhantomMenace by the #LondonSymphonyOrchestra (LSO) and the #LondonVoices. This #symphonic piece is played with both a full orchestra and a #choir. The lyrics are based on a fragment of an archaic #Welsh poem, #CadGoddeu (Battle of the Trees), and are sung in #Sanskrit.

Musical Interlude: OK, I'm giving you a whole album this time. As an antidote to the cold snap, I listened to this film soundtrack, from a neglected neo-noir film from the 90s, and full of blues music redolent of hot dry summer days. Featuring John Lee Hooker, Miles Davis, and Taj Majal, it's quite an experience.
