I'm finding a few things from The Abyss archive this morning... Here's a full-page ad in The Hollywood Reporter from the 1990 Oscar campaign. I wasn't eligible for an Oscar because "Sound Designer" was not an award category back then, but they did use my name in the promotion.

I was the sound designer on The Abyss, so I have seen the film many, many times. But it has never looked or sounded better than it did last night in the new restoration. Kudos to Jim Cameron & Gale Anne Hurd & everyone who worked on this restoration. The 125th St crowd in Harlem loved it!

Was just talking with @demvoter about screen envy. *THIS* is the room I worked in recently that gives me screen envy! I mixed and sound designed the Apple show EXTRAPOLATIONS & worked at Warner Brothers Burbank.
I'll talk more about EXTRAPOLATIONS closer to the release in 2023. It's an amazing show: 8 hours of dramatic anthology about climate crisis in the coming decades. Huge cast Meryl Streep, Daveed Diggs, Forest Whitaker, Marion Cotillard...
