This parody of "Shambala" by Three Dog Night is very specific to a thing that @Harena and I end up doing several times per week; explanation after the lyrics...
🎵
I can tell a Tesla
is an electric car
in the UHill parking lot.
Most of the others,
not sure what they are
in the UHill parking lot.We drive all around
catching Pokémon
in the UHill parking lot.
I wonder if they think
we're working a con
in the UHill parking lot.[nonverbal chorus]
There must be other EVs
we lay eyes upon
in the UHill parking lot.
But we catch more Eevees
playing Pokémon
in the UHill parking lot.[nonverbal chorus]
[bridge]
HOWWWWW... many Teslas
in the UHill parking lot?
(Tell me) HOWWWWW...
many Teslas...
in the UHill parking lot?[guitar solo]
I know their CEO
is kinda horrible
while we're driving 'round that lot
but if you see that logo,
you know it's electrical
and we see it around a lot.[nonverbal chorus]
(repeat bridge)
(play out)
🎼📖 So, the story is:
Lately @Harena has not been able to walk well enough to self-propel for her daily Pokémon Go rounds even when the weather is nice. It also happens that there's a particularly high concentration of PoGo stops and gyms in the retail-side parking lot at a newish nearby local development named University Hill, often styled as "UHill", so I often drive her there when we're not driving somewhere else that fits the bill.
...and while I'm driving around, there's not much else for me to do -- so I started counting all the electric cars I could identify, because electric cars are cool.
It turns out, however, that Teslas are the only EV you can quickly identify from basically any angle, since they do not make IC cars or even hybrids.
The only other definite EV make I know of is the Nissan Leaf -- and I think you can only be sure if you see one from the back, where the "Leaf" model is mentioned; from the front it could be any Nissan. Even a Hyundai Ioniq could be a hybrid, not EV-only.
Maybe there are other EV-only brands or models, but I haven't seen any in the wild.
...and yes, we have seen Cybertrucks there, at least twice (different ones -- they were different shades of brushed chrome). (Note: I don't think I've ever seen the same CyberTruck twice; one suspects they don't last long enough.)
...but also electric-only city buses, on the way there. Those definitely count too. (They're clearly labeled.)
