A fresh delivery of slackosundries, my totally random collection of Slackware sw packages.
The latest version of Brave Origin (1.91.149-1) is there for the taking.
Also: a desktop client for Filen encrypted cloud storage is included in slackosundries now. I use that myself. The other packages had no updates.

Notesnook has some old stuff, but not anything I seem to have lost. Not their fault, I switched off to Obsidian and then did a bunch of work.

Fuck me. Have I lost anything else? Can I trust Filen with my files? Why the fuck can't things just work as advertised? I don't even know if it was my OS, Filen, or Obsidian that deleted the files. 😭

Wracając do mojego filmu z setupem degoogle / deapple – chciałbym napisać o nim coś więcej.

Po wielu dniach testowania i szukania kompromisów – w końcu mam konfigurację, z którą żyję na co dzień. Staram się łączyć FOSS z realiami iOS. Nazywam to „pragmatycznym puryzmem”.

Z czego korzystam:

Przeglądarka daily: Quiche Browser, a jako dodatkowa Brave
Wyszukiwarka: Qwant (europejska, bez śledzenia)
DNS i blokowanie: NextDNS z listą HaGeZi Pro++ i kilkoma własnymi domenami (np. Facebook)

Poczta i kalendarz: Tuta Mail

Komunikacja z rodziną: Messenger (ale zablokowałem trackery Mety przez NextDNS)

Co zrobiłem w iOS:
Odciąłem iCloud, usunąłem domyślne aplikacje (nie tylko schowałem), wyłączyłem Siri, Apple Intelligence, dostęp do lokalizacji dla aplikacji, śledzenie i spersonalizowane reklamy.

Co myślicie? Co byście dorzucili albo zmienili? Chętnie poczytam uwagi.

Hmpf, DNS4EU blockt aktuell @filen als "malicious malware" 🙄
Falls Ihr wie ich beide Services verwendet und merkwürdige Sync-Fehler habt, wisst Ihr, woran das gerade liegt.
Ich habe bei beiden Anbietern bereits ein Ticket erstellt...
EDIT: Filen hat geantwortet: Sie sind offenbar auch von anderen DNS-Diensten wie QUAD9 geblockt. Man arbeite an einer Lösung...
EDIT2: DNS4EU hat eben gemeldet, dass man filen.io entblocked hat!

Ya llevo dos semanas utilizando #Filen como #almacenamiento en la #nube, y ha pasado la prueba con sobresaliente. Las aplicaciones funcionan de maravilla tanto en Linux, Windows como en Android, las transferencias son rapidísimas, y el diseño super limpio sin publicidad ni historias. Totalmente recomendable.
Por mi parte, ya le he dado la patada a #Dropbox. Con la ventaja de que Filen es mucho más configurable para sincronizar solo una parte de los archivos, hacerlo solo en una dirección, o para montar una unidad en lugar de sincronizar. Tiene todas las opciones.

OK, dann wollen wir mal #Filen testen. Auf der einen Maschine alles hochgeschoben, auf der anderen alles runter gezogen. Das klappte schon mal ganz gut unter durchgehender Auslastung der verfügbaren Bandbreite. Wenn ich es recht sehe macht Filen keinen Sync auf Blocklevel, muss also immer ganze Dateien herumschieben. Mal sehen ob das bemerkbar wird. #cloudsync

Sorprendido al descubrir Filen.io como servicio de alojamiento en la nube:

- Alojado en la UE (Alemania)
- 20Gb en la cuenta gratis
- Open source
- Contenido encriptado
- No han tenido nunca filtraciones de contenido

Okay, wenn ich es schaffe, mache ich an diesem Wochenende den Artikel zu Filen fertig.

Die Tests sind gut verlaufen. Und Filen bietet doch eine Reihe von Möglichkeiten, die man bei anderen Clouds nicht findet.

Eine gute Alternative, wenn man gerade in diesen Zeiten von US-Clouds Abschied nehmen möchte :-)

(Auf den Unterschied zur Nextcloud werde ich auch etwas eingehen.)

Filen ca. 5 x schneller im Vergleich zu pCloud:

So, mal einen ersten schnellen Geschwindigkeitstest gemacht: Filen gegen den Crypto-Ordner von pCloud antreten lassen.

War jetzt nur 1 große Datei, muss ich dann noch mit kleineren testen, aber das Ergebnis ist recht eindeutig. Upload Filen mit 270 MB/Sek., pCloud nur 60 MB/Sek.

(Mein WLAN: 100 down/40 up).

I apparently bought a lifetime zero quota mobile only license for #iDrive a few years ago, it's not ideal for my needs but I will leave it on for on-the-fly phone backups at no cost or worry.

Компания Microsoft сегодня (или с 1 апреля ) блокирует доступ к облачным сервисам для корпоративных клиентов из России. С этого дня хранилище OneDrive станет недоступно, как и 50 других сервисов Microsoft . Аналогичная ситуация может сложиться с сервисами Amazon и Google. Это вызовет некоторые проблемы у компаний, хранящих файлы в облаке. Если у пользователей нет резервных копий, им придётся в экстренном порядке переносить их на другой сервер, спасая с «тонущего корабля». К счастью, на этот случай есть удобные инструменты вроде Rclone , который одной командой копирует файлы с популярных облачных хостингов на свой сервер.
