  1. Lets write a lil tool,
so we don't need to use #telnet anymore

And now we can use (the previously enabled lighttpd listing extended by an html wrapper and make cgi-bin execute *sh.

Without any command line. In the #webbrowser .
    ❤️ Lovely
    Whats that ?
If you copy in a sh onto your router externalSD ?

    ..
Sure. added a FixPermission button just for that. :abloblamp:

    I like #CgiBin . Is nice

(I kinda god bamboozled by FileExplorer putting a lock on the files and them not being written by the sh. Seems like WinSCP handles that better. Darn you #Windows #Fileexplorer )

  3. > Build 26220.7271 ushers in a change whereby File Explorer is preloaded in the background when Windows 11 boots. This is an effort to try and fudge around the problematic delay that's often witnessed when you start File Explorer the first time after turning on your PC.

In an attempt to make the file explorer load faster, #microsoft further inflates #ram pricing...

  4. I saw an interesting article yesterday that said #Microsoft was finally admitting that some program of theirs was so bloated and #slow to start that it was harming the user experience, so they were considering pre-loading it at boot (or #login) time so #users wouldn't see the huge delay when they went to open it.

(Of course, that would slow down booting or login...)

But that program is ... Windows File Explorer.

So let me get this straight - a glorified file picker and directory navigator is so #bloated and slow it can't start up instantly? And thousands of engineers can't figure out how to make it fast or efficient?

Maybe they should ask #CoPilot to speed it up.

  5. #Windows #FileExplorer licks the sweat off a dead camel's balls.

Jeasus this UI is written by ... no, kindergartners would do better.

  6. Okay, i was annoyed again, so I did a thing:
Windows doesn't previews .svg files by default in the windows explorer.
I needed some svg files for the AutoSizeText project github.com/SpielmannSpiel/Auto to create a new icon for it.

So I made an image viewer in @godotengine ^^"
Is anyone interested in such a thing? maybe even as a tool in #PEBI?
I think open sourcing this might also be a good idea.

  7. #Microsoft declutters #Windows 11 #FileExplorer for #GDPR • The Register

Microsoft declutters #Windows11 File Explorer in the name of Euro #privacy
Also hammers another nail into Cortana's coffin with the end of Location History

  8. @johnoestmannmusic if you have to use #Windows for gaming because your favorite game's anti cheat requires it, then you can replace Windows #FileExplorer with a third party program like #Files which is an open source option, or #DirectoryOpus which is a paid option. Directory Opus requires a one time payment, but you only get a year's worth of feature updates, security updates are limitless and free.

  9. Windows 11 File Explorer is adding Android phone support

It’s possible to connect most Android phones to a PC with a USB cable and treat the phone as a USB mass storage device if you want to drag and drop files between devices or make other changes.
Soon you may not need the USB cable. Microsoft has begun rolling out an update that lets members of the Windows Insider program view their Android phone in Windows […]
