(Hint: unless it's off-peak AND you're speeding, you probably can't make it from the VA side of DC to [unspecified location] in Baltimore in an hour-ish. Yes, it's physically circa 80 miles. The traffic hellhole that is DC is *absolutely awful*, 0/10, avoid whenever possible. Do the loop around Atlanta, preferably; or go drive around Ohio. I hate both of those so you know. My feelings about DC traffic are Enormous.)

No one understanding geography or traffic patterns of major metropolitan centers outside of the Maybe one they're familiar with will kill your setting realism. Also, don't trust google maps for static traffic data; it'll be wrong/outdated again within 2 minutes, nevermind at whatever remove you're using it on timeline wise. #fictweeting

Okay this never sent so <*musical tweedle* 7 hours later...> apparently working fridges existed then. Possibly even early freon ones. But hoo $150-$230 would've been a pretty penny for a new one with the scenario the author set up (which, how Did they have money? No jobs were mentioned prior to enlistment... for either of them......), so it might have been a older model. Who Knows. (Listen you could have had the fridge's cooling system spring a leak.... this was apparently a thing that happened. Because early gaseous refrigerator systems used shit like ammonia or sulfur dioxide before refrigeration science moved on to freon. Which was apparently pretty chemically safe as such things go, comparatively, except to the ozone layer.)

Anyway I highly doubt they had a new fridge, or one that wasn't Tempermental. Y'all poor folk know what I mean. #fictweeting
