Here's a recent crochet toy made for a wee boy who loves the kid's show it is from 😊 I used chenille yarn to give him a bit of a fuzzy texture and he came out quite large as you can see.

Today's impulse buy at the thrift store was this wooden doodad that I'm assuming has something to with spinning wool, though I'm not entirely sure. Is it a weird looking spindle? Something else? Any ideas?
Edit: several people have suggested a phang spindle (yay, new word!), which seems very likely. And know I have a name to do more research.

15/n Green Scarf Guy has been replaced by a woman who wears oversized tights. I had Sweet Caroline stuck in my head, caused by reminiscing about last year's NYE. Now listening to my favourite Tori Amos album (Boys for Pele) in an effort to get rid of it.
Hand-knit Jumper Woman seems to have gotten through a particularly tricky yoke-shaping phase and seems more relaxed now.

Another recent Kids' Drawing Toy crochet make. This one was for a teacher, and the drawing was the winner in a competition she had run for her class, with the prize being a toy made from the child's drawing. I have made a few toys for schools, some were dolls requested by a lovely lady as gifts for various schools and she still keeps in touch with me to let me know how they are doing and the adventures they have been on with the school children 😊 You can see the school dolls, all wearing their respective uniforms on my dolls page:

I'm getting a right hankering to make an Argyle piece again since it's been a while. The main thing is finding the correct yarns that allow for planned colour pooling. I created this blanket with Red Heart Super Saver Pooling yarn, which is really good, but unfortunately not very easy to come across in the UK now and expensive when you do.
I wrote about my first foray into colour pooling on my blog if anyone is interested. It can be extremely frustrating at times, but also very satisfying once you get the hang of it. If I find a good yarn for planned pooling this time, I'll update it and let you know ☺️
