  1. Today's adventures in #fibrechannel

I installed several flavors of Linux on my homemade SAN (if you can even call it that).

I was also able to get FreeBSD installed up to the point where it will load the bootloader over the network, but when starting the kernel the entire computer restarts.

I'm not sure what I'm missing.

  2. Question!

Is there something like #BlueSCSI but for #fibrechannel emulation?

I have a SUN machine without drives that I need some storage for, attaching some pictures for good vibes

  4. @shadowdancer @Azimech

is a really nice server oriented in my experience. I've never put it into production, but have it running on some decommed machines at work. It was surprisingly straightforward to expose ZFS datasets as LUNS using COMSTAR. Havn't played much with Zones yet, but that seems cool too

  5. My :

I’m a EE (communications / signal processing focus) by training, which I’ve been putting to use for quite a while now working on high-performance reconstructions at the Mayo Clinic in , using C++, and .

I use and anywhere I can, and manage to put in a little time maintaining a few packages that I use for the dayjob.

Previously worked on optical and for and JDS Uniphase.
