I used the create app myself. And it really worked. As it does not need any connection to some central server and also does not collect any data I also believe the security and privacy risks of the app are very low and manageable. So the new tools allowed this guy to build something innovative quickly with very restricted resources.

The second experience was when building stuff for myself. In my role the #FHAachen I regular build small tools for myself to automate stuff.

So I decided to change my information systems lecture for the business students at #fhaachen in the next summer term.

Currently, I'm planning to keep #BPMN, #ER-models, #DB normalization and add #SQL.

Besides that I'm planning to include these #AI topics (one week for each topic):

1. APIs and process automation with n8n
2. Fundamentals of AI and classical AI algorithms
3. Neural Networks
4. LLMs & prompting
5. Vector DBs, embeddings & RAG
6. Ethics of AI systems

In some of my lectures at #FHAachen, I ask students to create tutorials or blog posts instead of taking a traditional exam at the end of the term.

Here’s one of the results from this term - a really nice tutorial on using #Word templates in #PowerAutomate flows, created by one of my students.

12 years ago today Jesco von Puttkamer died. Born in 1933 in #Leipzig, Germany he migrated to the US in 1962 and started working as an #aerospace engineer at #NASA until his death.

Until 2000 he was an Honorate Professor at the University of Applied Sciences in #Aachen, Germany. I was lucky to attend one of his lectures in the late 1990s where he made the above statement.
