@massivelyop absolutely #GuildWars I played that so much. Hour after hour. It was a great time. It wasn't my first but it helped me find what I enjoy about MMOs most. Though my time in #ffxi did quite a bit too, tho mostly with things I don't enjoy 😂

@ridge The way the Final Fantasy XI PlayOnline Viewer (launcher) opened on the first try on my most recent attempt to get the game working.
lmao, PlayOnline is the true first boss of XI. :P

I just published a guide on how to set up Final Fantasy XI on Linux, using nothing but the raw power of your bare hands.
I also wrote a script you can run, which makes a shortcut to the game in your application launcher. Complete with right-click options.
Please don't look too hard inside it, I'm new to this. Teehee.The idea is to eventually make a full auto-installer script that takes care of everything, from downloading the game to creating a .desktop file.
Just for fun and learning, mostly. -

It's Final Fantasy 11's 24th anniversary today. I knew they were planning something for it but I didn't expect a whole animation and a new song from the composer, this is so cool. Really takes me back to when I first played the game.

Been really excited to see the screenshots of each step in the current Final Fantasy 14 alliance raid series, but this is the one I was most excited for since I'm a Windurst player. Man that looks gorgeous, I'm glad they went with such a faithful approach to the environments.
This shot of the Heavens Tower in Windurst Walls hit my nostalgia really hard. I always thought it was an awesome view as a little kid, imagine if I had gone back in time and shown myself THIS.
Original FF11 model included for comparison.Part of me hopes this effort won't just be for FF14 players and that we'll also somehow get to play with this, but the chances of that are quite low, I know.
