#ffvii_rebirth — Public Fediverse posts

After an ardous journey of fanservice and minigames, we finally arrive at the Gold Saucer... for even MORE fanservice and minigames! Cloud and Barret are NOT okay, Nanaki and the girls get sidetracked and Cait Sith's modern portrayal is a pleasant surprise... but could him, his moogle and his creator have been made more thematically resonant? 📣🐈‍⬛

Tensions are FINALLY climbing in Rebirth... and so's the altitude! The party experiences the highs and lows on offer along the path up Mt Corel, and I have a LOT to like and dislike about it! ⛰️

I've been playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth since it just came out for PC. And very much enjoying third party camera tools, since the in-game "photo mode" is extremely restricted.

I get to play as Red XIII! Even if it's only during battles, that's still basically a dream come true since I played the original FFVII back in my teenage years and instantly fell in love with Lab Rat Dog

#ffvii_rebirth is releasing on PC at discount but, I can't pull the trigger until I know how it performs on #SteamDeck.

The party navigates their way through the Mythril Mines, the linearity of which begins to expose some of Rebirth's shortcomings (in my opinion) 😅 At least the mythril is pretty, and my boys got some time to shine! 💎

The following is of me watching my friend Anxrali playing through the Nibelheim and Junon demos for FFVII Rebirth (7th and 22nd of February respectively). Due to not having the PS5 set up with my PC yet, this video was filmed "OG-Kabba style" with an iPad, but the rest of my FFVII Rebirth footage was screen-recorded on my PC and with a mic. Despite the lower technical quality, I believe our experience was worth sharing, so I hope you all enjoy the video all the same! 😅

I preordered #ffvii_rebirth but still haven't played it, just don't have the feeling for the whole that is FFVII. Some of it is because of personal problems at the moment and the mild depression they brought, but a big problem is FFXVI. It was just too good 😅 VII has never been a big deal for me even though I enjoy it, but XVI was just so me that it moved straight into top 2 of my FF list. So I'll probably finish Infine Wealth first, then XVI again with the DLC, and then it's VIIs turn 🤭

Tippt Mal "Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth"

#ffvii_rebirth

#ff7rebirth

Sooooo...

Vergisst man ja manchmal irgendwie.

SO schnell...? |D'

Gut ausbalanciert!

#ffvii_rebirth

Allerdings frage ich mich jetzt schon;

So!

und;

10.12.2023 ~ Thank you all so, so much for 1,000 views! To wrap up Clerith Day, I wanted to share some thoughts on the lyrics themselves (please note that since I'm not active on most mainstream social media my comments may not be 100% original):

"I won't say that it was fate, I wont say that it was destiny. But if not, what could it be that drew you towards me? Could it be chance?" is extremely personal to Aerith - she has spent the entire Remake continuity (and, in meta contexts, the last 25 years of FFVII's existence) being defined by her premature death at the hands of Sephiroth. She fears that her death, and Cloud's subsequent suffering, are predetermined events which will thwart any attempts to be together in life (remember "but whatever happens, you can't fall in love with me"!). As a result, she seems to prefer avoiding any sort of allusions to divine influence over her relationship with Cloud, despite how impactful and fulfilling it is. Their meeting is incidental but transcends their prescribed purposes, giving her the courage to hope against her prophesised demise.

"No Promises To Keep" probably sounds a bit pessimistic for a love ballad at first glance, until we acknowledge Cloud's promise to protect her as her bodyguard, and Aerith's promise to come back to his side once she was done summoning Holy. Due to her untimely murder both of them were unable to fulfill these promises, which is therefore a major source of trauma and grief for both of them. "[They] won't ever need" such tragic promises if Cloud "believe[s] that [he'll] find [her]" and "never let [her] go", just as he vows in the lyrics of Hollow ('this time, I'll never let you go"). If "[they] can be together evermore", they will love and want for nothing because tragedy won't come between them ever again 💚
