Despite #Ferrari claiming that they wouldn’t be forcing customers to buy the #Luce to get access to more desirable, exclusive cars*…they are now forcing customers to buy the #FerrariLuce to get access to more desirable, exclusive cars.
This ruins the Luce’s reputation even more, in my opinion. Car collectors like David Lee are going to be under a lot of pressure to say only nice things about the car they are forced to buy, lest they lose out on the opportunity to buy the next limited-edition hypercar.

I think there are two kinds of people who will buy a #FerrariLuce:
1. Ferrari collectors who buy every car that Ferrari makes, partly because they don’t want to be denied the next exclusive car. Ferrari is particular about who they *allow* to buy their special cars, and collectors want to stay in Ferrari’s good graces. For a billionaire that has 1000× or more the wealth of a typical household, a $650k car feels like $650; they’ll buy one just to stash.
2. Nuveau-riche techbros who think that the Cybertruck is no longer obnoxious enough to pwn their neighbors.
Between these two customer bases Ferrari could sell 3000 units, which would make this car a “success.” But resale values will tell us if people actually desire the Luce. My prediction is that it will lose half its value in the first year, and continue to depreciate after that.

Yeah, this captures much of how the exterior of the Ferrari Luce hits me, and makes the excellent point that Ferrari's aren't meant to be practical, utilitarian, or sensible.
They are meant to be outrageous, and the Luce fails utterly at that, despite its good qualities.

The hysterics surrounding this new Ferrari Luce EV remind me of last year's Cracker Barrel logo redesign (i.e., people have WAAAAY too many fucks to give).
My take? It doesn't look like a Ferrari, but it looks good--esp. when you realize that the front hood is actually a front spoiler. The interior is beautiful. Four doors and blue paint don't bother me at all.
But...I'd never, ever pay EUR550K for any car.
