  1. Zettel 1614

  3. There are wounds that don’t come from battle, but from accommodation — from staying in places that slowly asked us to shrink, adapt, or go quiet.

    They don’t always announce themselves.
    But they stay.

  10. 🧵
I talked with some people from the Philippines yesterday. I mentioned this "scandal"(?) about "SalamIn SalamIn" being "devil's music." I was adamantly assured that the hubbub was "Fake News" and that the title means "Mirror Mirror" like "Mirror Mirror on the Wall Who's the fairest of them all..." I was convinced, but then I remembered a Fernando Pessoa quote an now I'm not so sure.(hahahaha?)
"The inventor of the mirror poisoned the human heart.” #PessoaOnMirrors #FernandoPessoa #BINI

  11. Em inglês também não vai mal:

"From my village I see as much of the universe as you can see from earth,
So my village is as big as any other land
For I am the size of what I see,
Not the size of my height."

#FernandoPessoa as #AlbertoCaeiro, *The Keeper of Sheep*

  13. I adore this poem by Alberto Caeiro, it does this very fascinating language "trick".

The world "beautiful" shows up twice, but through the use of "but" each "beautiful" acquires a different meaning and essentially becomes two different separate words.

Beautiful as grandiose, well known and inspiring. Beautiful as particular, close, meaningless.

I just love this concept of opposing the "same" thing, making them different and creating new meanings and interpretations from that.
I basically stole the idea for the poem I did for the 3rd issue of @t_the_zine and I'm for sure gonna use it for other things I write, it's just such a fascinating magical thing for me!
