Mastodon lässt sich ganz einfach einrichten, gehe auf das + dann alle Dienste, dann Mastodon und dann auf "selbst gehostet". Gebe Deine Mastodon URL ein und melde Dich an, das ist alles!🏅

I had been using Ferdi to consolidate several chat services (namely Element and MS Teams). Ferdi seems to have imploded. Trying Hamsket as a replacement. Lacks a few features that Ferdi had/has, but otherwise looks promising.

@pludikovsky Seems like the developer just nuked everything.
He made issue tracking available only for donators a few months ago and went silent for a while after the inevitable backlash. There is also talk about him having mental health issues but I don't know how that came up.
I just want a good, reliable, open source solution that runs on Linux but this niche of software is just doomed to fail I guess. #Ferdi is my 4th one now. Did you find a good alternative already?

Update: The GH issue I created about why everything got moved to the private repo was moved there as well - it seems they don't want word out? And then I was invited to the 'sponsors-only' repository. So I could see that my issue got two likes and no answer (despite the maintainter taking the time to move my issue to the locked repo). WTF is going on. #Ferdi #OpenSource

#Ferdi - for "all your favourite apps in one place" - is a hard fork of Franz which was getting too commercial and reliant on a central server. Now, about 2,5 years after the fork, all issues in Ferdi's public repo are gone. Including MY contributions (issues/replies). No communication about it whatsoever.
Guess what. From the PRs it is clear that they've all been moved to a not-public repo called `getferdi/sponsors-only`. It's #FOSS-unworthy. Really hope this is bad management, not bad intent.

@Fabio_Monaco @mauriziocarnago su #ferdi idem, da' la possibilità di aprire un "private chat" ma alla fine fa una chat normale. Non funziona nemmeno l'applicazione ufficiale di #telegram, non c'è l'opzione per le chat segrete su #linux, molto male.
