Five stars:
Buy Black: How Black Women Transformed US Pop Culture by Aria S. Halliday (2022) is the most recent volume in the Feminist Media Studies series. Through four slices of Black female consumerism, this book looks at how pop culture both influences and is influenced by Black women.

I know there are constantly new folks joining and moving around, so here's another shout out for colleagues to help us find each other. My tips for a better Fedi experience (which echo many other tips posts):
Follow hashtags if you're seeking posts on these topics, and maybe also follow folks who post about them.
Use hashtags--I'm seeing a ton of posts from #academics with none.
Use CWs and think of them as content wrappers, to help others decide if they want to read your post or not.
Tag posts to groups to get automatically boosted to their members.
Boost posts to engage with their authors and readers.
Fill out your profile as much as you can.
Save a pinned #Intro post so we can boost it.
