Ce relief en pierre ornait un monument funéraire de Tarente (Italie du sud) du IVe siècle avant notre ère. Hadès et Perséphone, assis à gauche, accueillent Hermès et la femme qu'il accompagne aux Enfers, dans lesquels ils semblent être entrés via une grotte, à droite. Au centre, une figure masculine (Orphée ?) s'entretient avec le couple infernal.
