  1. Anyone an idea how to fix/get around this mess?

I have a system that says its Fedora 42 in /etc/os-release
But it has still the fc41 packages installed and tries to use these repos with dnf update.

Trying again to run the system upgrade errors out as seen in the second screenshot, and doing a normal dnf update with forcing the releasever variable to 42 fails because of all these conflicting files between the fc41 and fc42 packages 😔

  6. And now updated from #fedora41 to #Fedora43
This one was a little bit tricky -- GUI updated did not work, so I tried start from terminal to debug. And looked like a couple of packages caused some issues so I removed them. After this updated went smoothly.

  10. I tried to update #Fedora from #Fedora40 to #Fedora41 using the gui without realizing that I had to run regular updates first, and the update failed. Now the "about" page says it's running fedora 41 but none of the software updated and I can't upgrade anything. 😩

Apparently if you click the bigger more tantalizing update button before you click the smaller less tantalizing update button Fedora will just happily break your computer.
