Some of you have been asking about the #Fedivision song contest, and whether it will run this year.
#Fedivision2025 will not be run.
The organizers (@TQ, @zatnosk, and me) agree that the Fediverse has grown to a size where Fedivision doesn’t work as a format any more. We have so many talented amateur musicians here that it’s not practical for voters to commit the hours of time needed to listen to all the entries. The labour required to organize the event has also scaled past the point where we can do it in our spare time.

I think I have a funny idea for what I'm gonna submit for #Fedivision2025 — a more surreal sequel of my #Fedivision2024 entry "Webpunks" that continues where it left off after it was interrupted by a "sound paywall" of SuperUltraProMiumGold+ to continue listening.
Not a lot of plans yet (or even if I'll go with that idea), but it'll have even more references to our enshittified internet I didn't cover in the original Webpunks:

To anyone who just learned about the existence of fedivision, who feels they missed out: follow the official accounts of @announce @vote and turn on notifications for them, as well as follow the hashtags of #fedivision and #fedivision2025. You can also put them on a separate list, so they do not get lost in your feeds. That way you will most likely not miss any important updates next year. -
